A look at the main staff who graced the motel over the years. We can only go on the few documents we have so if we've missed anyone who you think should be included, let us know by emailing us.
Some staff listed may have also had other smaller jobs at the motel, we have just listed longer term roles. We also have only listed staff who were involved in plots and at the least spoke - there were many, many unsung extras who played motel staff over the 24 years.

Management and Owners - 1960s |
Meg was the sole owner until the late 1960s, when she needed a cash injection for the motel expansions. Tish Hope and Bernard Booth bought shares in Crossroads.

Management and Owners - 1970s |
By the 1970s David Hunter had bought more shares in Crossroads, with by the mid-1970s both Bernard and Tish selling their investment in the motel. Meg held 51% and David 50%, however as a gesture of good-will Meg sold David 1% to make them equal. Meg's shares became part of Mortimer Investments, her husbands company - after they married. In 1978, after the death of Meg's husband Hugh, the Mortimer Investment company was liquidated after incurring huge debts. Meg had to sell some of her shares to pay off the debts. David Hunter bought more, making him the sole major share owner and also Adam Chance invested in the motel.
Managers come and go in the 1970s, with Paul and Nick departing; leaving Sandy, David, Tish and Meg to take more control with the daily running.

Management and Owners - 1980s |
Meg left the motel in 1981. Her shares went to daughter Jill. David was the majority share holder until 1981, when he sold 15% of his stake to wife Barbara. In 1982 James Henry Pollard invested in Crossroads, he had almost taken over the entire company in 1981. Later on the entire motel was sold a further three times; in 1985 to MIH, 1986 to the Lancaster Family and 1988 to Three Crowns Group.

Front of House and Hospitality |
Waitress roles also often would include reception work too up until the early 1980s - Crossroads staff were multi-tasking years before it became the trend. (*occasional)

Garage and Service Station |
Originally built and owned by Charles Richardson, the garage was later to be independent of the motel. Over the years it had many 'part owners' who mainly co-owned the service station with the 'Go Col' empire.
